Rally Racing and and its popularity

Rally racing is traditionally regarded as one of the most expensive sport. Rally racing is a form of motor competition that takes place on public or private roads with modified production or specially built road-legal cars. There are two main types of rallies practiced these days. They are rallies and road rallies. Stage rallies are more popular in most parts of the world and is known as the "professional branch" of the sport.

Rallying is a unique sport for a number of reasons. Unlike other sports rallying takes place in all surfaces and in all conditions. That is one reason why rallying is regarded as the "grass roots" of motor sports. Many popular rallies such as Monte Carlo, World Rally Championship, Swedish Rally, etc are widely watched by millions of fans world wide.

In United States, NASCAR Racing is one of the most popular sports today. Nascar (The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) is the largest sanctioning body of motorsports in the United States. Nascar racing found its mark in early 1900s. After many successful years it made major changes in its structure in the early 1970s.
